Here's a pet peeve. Why do people keep calling fuel cells an "alternative energy source?" Fuel cells are storage devices. They may be leaps and bounds better than metal-ion storage batteries, but they are not a source of fuel!! You still need to put energy in to get energy out. I know that this has been mentioned in blogs before, but not often enough, apparently, for the folks at Samizdata. I thought one of those guys was an engineer.

In other news, Iain Murray has been on fire, debunking dubious social science and environmental science research. The recently touted environmental study "linking" pollution with cancer is his most recent victim.
