Turned up to eleven: Fair and Balanced

Two quick notes. I know that I have been pushing the Daily Howler for a while, but if you want to see an example of using the Web to "fact-check your ass" as Ken Layne would say, this is a prime one, on Bernie Goldberg's book Bias. It is just too good to excerpt, so just go there! (link at left). Also, if you are near a radio, one of the great biologists of the 20th century, E.O. Wilson, is on Talk of the Nation starting at Noon PST. You may not like his politics, or his ideas (although they are fascinating), but you must respect the power and enduring nature of his biological insights, in particular his work on ant social structure, and the pioneering idea of Sociobiology.
